Continuous bond and cancellation
- The bond is continuous, not issued for a fixed term.
- The surety can cancel by written notice to L&I; cancellation automatically suspends the contractor’s registration until a new bond is approved.
- An assigned savings account, on L&I forms, may be used instead of a surety bond.

Insurance and fees
Washington L&I requires general liability insurance of either $200,000 public liability and $50,000 property damage, or $250,000 combined single limit. The initial registration fee is $150.20. See our general liability insurance guide.
