New York Plumbing Contractor Insurance: NYC Master Plumber Rules and Coverage
New York does not issue a statewide plumbing license, so cities and towns set the rules. In New York City, the Department of Buildings licenses Master Plumbers and requires at least $1 million per occurrence of general liability, plus workers’ compensation and disability coverage. Virtually all New York employers must carry workers’ comp.
This guide covers New York plumbing licensing, NYC insurance rules, coverage, and typical costs. Blake Insurance Group is an independent agency licensed in New York, and a licensed agent can compare quotes for your plumbing business.
