Oklahoma HVAC Contractor Insurance: CIB Mechanical License, $5,000 Bond, and $50,000 Liability
Oklahoma licenses HVAC contractors through the Construction Industries Board (CIB) as mechanical contractors, with a path from apprentice to journeyman to contractor. Before the license is issued, the contractor must file a $5,000 surety bond and a certificate of insurance showing at least $50,000 of general liability. Commercial appliances over 500,000 Btu/h require an unlimited HVAC license.
