Virginia requires a DPOR Class A, B, or C contractor license with the Landscape Service Contracting (LSC) specialty for landscape projects over $1,000, with the class set by contract value. Irrigation needs a separate Landscape Irrigation (ISC) specialty at any contract amount. Pesticide businesses need a VDACS license and coverage of $100,000 property damage and $100,000 per person, $300,000 per occurrence, for injury.

This guide covers Virginia landscaping licenses, required coverage, and typical costs. Blake Insurance Group is an independent agency licensed in Virginia, and a licensed agent can compare quotes for your landscaping business.
