Georgia Landscaping Contractor Insurance: Pesticide Contractor License and Coverage

Illustration of a lawn, trees, flower beds, and a mower for Georgia landscaping contractor insurance

Georgia has no statewide landscaping contractor license, and landscape and irrigation work is exempt from the state general and residential contractor licenses. Landscapers who apply pesticides for hire need a Georgia Department of Agriculture pesticide contractor license, a certified commercial applicator on staff, and liability coverage for chemical use. Employers with three or more employees must carry workers’ compensation.

This guide covers Georgia landscaping licenses, required coverage, and typical costs. Blake Insurance Group is an independent agency licensed in Georgia, and a licensed agent can compare quotes for your landscaping business.
