Virginia HVAC Contractor Insurance: Master HVAC Tradesman, HVA License, and Coverage
Virginia licenses HVAC work twice: individuals hold DPOR journeyman or Master HVAC tradesman credentials, and HVAC businesses hold a Class A, B, or C contractor license with the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVA) specialty, qualified by a Master HVAC tradesman. DPOR sets no general liability minimum, but employers with more than two employees must carry workers’ compensation.
This guide covers Virginia HVAC licensing, required coverage, and typical costs. Blake Insurance Group is an independent agency licensed in Virginia, and a licensed agent can compare quotes for your HVAC business.
