Pennsylvania HVAC Contractor Insurance: HICPA, Local Licenses, and Workers’ Comp
Pennsylvania has no statewide HVAC license. Contractors doing $5,000 or more of home improvement work a year must register under HICPA and carry $50,000 of personal injury and $50,000 of property damage liability. Cities such as Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Reading license HVAC trades locally, and employers with even one employee must carry workers’ compensation.
This guide covers Pennsylvania HVAC licensing, required coverage, and typical costs. Blake Insurance Group is an independent agency licensed in Pennsylvania, and a licensed agent can compare quotes for your HVAC business.
