Tips for a faster call
Have your Grange policy number and the named insured's details ready before you call. Write down the date, the name of the person you speak with, and any reference or claim number they give you. If you're calling about a claim, ask what the next step is, how long it usually takes, and how you'll get updates. If you're calling about a bill, ask for the amount due, the due date, and whether your last payment has posted.
If you'd rather not wait on hold, check whether Grange offers the same service online or in an app. Many policy changes, ID card requests, and payments can be handled without a call.
The number on your Grange ID card, declarations page, or billing statement is the most reliable one for your policy. If a number here doesn't reach the right team, call us at (888) 387-3687 and we'll help you find it.
Claims
How to file and track a Grange claim
To report a Grange claim online, log in to a MyGrange account and use the claim reporting option. You can also call 1-800-445-3030 to report a claim. Have your policy number, contact information, loss date, location, and a brief description of what happened ready when you report the claim. To track an existing claim, log in to MyGrange and use the online tracking option, or call 1-800-686-0025.
Grange also lists separate support for auto glass claims. Call 1-800-951-9734 for Glass Claims Reporting, or schedule a repair through the Grange Safelite website. Roadside assistance is available for common emergencies such as running out of fuel, engine trouble, and being locked out. Call 1-866-767-0150 for roadside help. When requesting assistance, keep your location, vehicle details, and contact information available.
Before you report a claim
- Stay safe first. If anyone is hurt, call 911. If your car is drivable and it's safe, move it out of traffic.
- Collect the details. The NAIC suggests getting the other driver's name, address, and insurance company, the other car's make, model, year, and plate, witness contact information, and the officer's name and badge number.
- Note the time and place. Write down the date, time, and exact location, and take photos of the vehicles and the scene.
- Report it promptly. The NAIC advises calling the number on your proof-of-insurance card as soon as you can. Many companies also take claims in their app.
- Keep a claim file. Save your claim number, your adjuster's name, estimates, receipts, and notes from every call.
What happens after you file
After you report a claim, Grange assigns an adjuster who reviews the facts, your coverage, and the damage. The NAIC recommends cooperating with the adjuster and asking questions if anything is unclear. Your deductible is usually subtracted from a covered payment, and if you have a car loan, the check may be made out to you and your lender.
If you disagree with a decision, ask for a written explanation and try to resolve it with Grange first. If that doesn't work, you can contact your state insurance department. In Arizona, that's the Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.
Billing
How to pay your Grange bill
You can pay a Grange Auto, Home, or Business bill by logging in to MyGrange or making a one-time payment without logging in. Online payment methods include an electronic check, ATM debit card, credit card, or check card. Grange also offers Easy Pay, an electronic funds transfer option. Customers enrolled in EFT should contact their Grange Independent Agent or call Grange to pay by phone.
For phone payments and billing questions, call 1-800-425-1100 and use the Grange Billing Information System. To pay by mail, include the policy number on the check. Customers in Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia can mail payments to Grange Insurance Companies, P.O. Box 740604, Cincinnati, OH 45274-0604. Illinois and Michigan customers can use P.O. Box 88017, Chicago, IL 60680-1017. Overnight payments go to 671 South High Street, Columbus, OH 43206-1066. Keep your payment confirmation or canceled check so you can confirm when the payment posted.
Whichever method you choose, save your billing statements and payment confirmations until the policy term ends. If you change banks or cards, update your payment details with Grange before the next draft date so a payment doesn't fail.
Tips for paying safely
- Use official channels only. Pay through Grange's website, app, or the number on your statement, or through your agent.
- Check the web address before you enter card or bank details, and be wary of payment links sent by text or email.
- Keep your confirmation number for every payment.
- Ask about autopay or paid-in-full options. Some companies offer them.
- Act quickly on a late notice. Grace periods vary by company and state, and a missed payment can lead to cancellation.

How Blake Insurance Group can help Grange customers
We're an independent agency, so we can help you prepare for a call with Grange, explain what your auto policy covers, and follow up if a claim or billing issue stalls. Grange makes claim decisions and issues payments, but we can help you get a clear answer.
A claim is also a good time to check for gaps. Many drivers find out after an accident that their liability limits are low or that they don't have rental reimbursement or roadside help. Learn more about roadside assistance coverage, compare auto insurance options, or read about SR-22 insurance if your state requires a filing.
