Nebraska HVAC Contractor Insurance: NDOL Registration and Local Licenses
Nebraska has no statewide HVAC license. Contractors register with the Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) for $40 a year, and cities set their own rules: Lincoln requires mechanical registration, Fremont requires $1,000,000 of liability insurance, and Blair requires a $5,000 permit bond. Contractors with one or more employees must give NDOL a workers’ compensation certificate.
