Texas electrical contractors are licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and must employ a licensed Master Electrician. The license requires general liability of at least $300,000 per occurrence, $600,000 aggregate, and $300,000 for products and completed operations. Contractors must show workers’ comp or elect not to carry it.

This guide covers Texas electrical licenses, TDLR insurance minimums, workers’ comp choices, and typical costs. Blake Insurance Group is an independent agency licensed in Texas, and a licensed agent can compare quotes for your electrical business.
