Kansas Public Works Bonds (K.S.A. 60-1111): Requirements and Claims
Under K.S.A. 60-1111, contractors on Kansas public works contracts over $100,000 must give a bond of at least the full contract price, guaranteeing payment for labor, materials, equipment, and supplies. The bond is filed with the clerk of the district court, and suits must be brought within six months of completion.
This guide covers the bond, who it protects, filing, claims, and cost. Blake Insurance Group is an independent agency and does not give legal advice; a licensed agent can help contractors set up bonding.
